As an English teacher, Dave began the country’s first school skateboard program and over one of his summer breaks he helped build Maine’s first skatepark. He currently designs and maintains parks and he’s a skate coach to a former student and now Olympic athlete. Skating isn’t a competitive thing for Dave. It’s about the inclusive and welcoming community that skateboarding has become. It’s his goal to design parks that fuel that same spirit.
